| Description: In October of 2005 I traveled to Niger to travel with my sister as she had just finished a 2 year stint in the Peace Corps. On the way back we stayed in Morocco for one week. We spent a couple of days in Marrakech, a couple days in Fez, and our last night in Casablanca before returning home. All of these cities are quite different and well worth a visit. Marrakech is more touristy, but worth it for a visit to the main square and the souqs (markets) and spice shops. Fez is a very old, walled city with its own labyrinthine passageways and some of my favorite views from the hill above the city. Casablanca is a modern almost European city that sharply contrasts with most of Africa. |
