Location: Near the skyway bridge in St Petersburg, FL.
Description: "Dr. Beach's #1 beach for 2005. This park consists of 1,136 acres made up of five interconnected islands. Because of its size you can get away from the crowds even on busier days.
Personal Notes: A great site for shorebird photography. I usually head out to the beach area first to do some photography before there are other people out on the beach. A huge variety of shorebirds can be found here. Is also very productive during the spring and fall migrations especially near the mulberry tree (next to Rangers house). April and May are the best times to go because the laughing gulls, and terns are very active with courtship and mating activities and the migrants are coming through in full swing.
