Description: Sweetwater Creek is a peaceful tract of wilderness only minutes from bustling downtown Atlanta. A wooded trail follows the free-flowing stream to the ruins of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a textile mill burned during the Civil War. Beyond the mill, the trail climbs rocky bluffs to provide views of the beautiful shoals below.
Personal Notes: I visited this park as a short daytrip from Atlanta and really liked the park. At the time I went there were many little streams snaking down the mountains in addition to the rapids on the main river and the ruins.
